How are you celebrating Arbor Day this year?
Mark your calendars! National Arbor Day — a holiday dedicated to planting and caring for trees — is being observed April 28, 2017.
You don’t have to be a professional arborist to participate. All you need is a love for trees, and a willingness to donate your time and energy to a local Arbor Day event. Check out the links below to learn more about the holiday, and how you can get involved:
Find out when your state observes Arbor Day – National Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday in April, but many states observe Arbor Day on different dates throughout the year. Some states even dedicate an entire week to trees! Learn more here.
Lend a hand in your community – Not sure how to celebrate Arbor Day? Your contribution could be as small as reading a book about trees, or as large as organizing a tree planting in your community. Need ideas for how to volunteer your time? Find a list of ideas here.
Connect with a local tree care company – Professional tree care companies and arborists often organize tree care and planting projects in their community. Why not contact your local tree care company and see what their plans are for the holiday? Find a tree care company here.

After Tornados ripped through our city, destroying thousands of trees, I’ve been propagating cypress babies and hope to have some our citizens participate. I will also encourage citizens, through our Tornado Recovery FB Page, to plant a pair of trees in memory of Jan 2nd & 22nd – The 2 days of 2 Paths of Destruction.. Any advice is appreciated! Happy Arbor Day!
We always celebrate Arbor day by planting trees in our community. Sometimes it just gets so packed that we end up doing it the next month. Either way, I think it is super important to remember how important trees really are.
May also ask for the gardening cost as wells as cost of removing wallpaper and painting too ?
